Local transport history up close for the whole family on the grounds of the Museum of Transport // Approach in style with vintage streetcars

Summer has long since reached our latitudes. But before the warm season can officially start, there is still the traditional summer party of the Transport Museum in Schwanheim is just around the corner. On Saturday, the June 14, open the East Hall and the outdoor area of the Transport Museum from 2 to 6 pm, on Sunday, the June 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m..

Visitors can browse through the East Hall of the Museum of Transport and get to know the history of local transportation up close. Traditionally for the summer festival, thanks to the HSF flea market It is also possible to take a piece of it home with you. On the grounds of the transport museum there are between historical signaling systemsa cozy Signal box and the streetcars on display much to discover.

In addition, the Museum store on tour will be coming to Schwanheim on both days with a wide range of products in a vintage car built in 1969. The historic Bus MB O305 (434) makes its way to Schwanheim. On display on the museum grounds, it offers a nostalgic Photo motif.

Not only because of what the museum store has to offer Children not miss out on the summer festival: While the older local transport fans can refresh their memories and use their cameras, the younger streetcar enthusiasts can make up leave. Also for the physical well-being is of course taken care of. 

Of course, during the entire weekend historic streetcars of the N to Pt series (1963 to 1978) in the city area. Boarding is possible at all stops along the route. On Saturday, 14.06. the streetcar veterans will connect the Sachsenhausen Louisa station every 40 minutes via the new line opened in 2014 on Stresemannallee with Schwanheim.

On Sunday, 15.06. the streetcars run every 45 minutes from Low church from Schwanheim. On the way, the streetcars stop at Galluswarte, the main station and Stresemannallee/Gartenstraße. In the direction of Nied, the old-timers run through Kleyerstraße and serve the single-track section in Rebstöcker Straße. The way back, however, leads directly through Mainzer Landstraße.

Vehicle use:
An N-car (built in 1963), O-car (built in 1969) and Pt-car (built in 1977/78) will probably be used.

Current streetcar timetable:

To travel on the historic trains, you only need a ticket valid for Frankfurt valid RMV ticket or the Germany ticket required. The vehicles are not barrier-free and do not have a selected storage area for bicycles. To avoid blocked escape routes, which could save lives in an emergency, bicycles are not permitted in the historic vehicles.

There may be operational deviations from the route as well as from the timetable and vehicle deployment!
