The association “Historische Straßenbahn der Stadt Frankfurt am Main e.V.” essentially pursues four goals:

• Bringing together all those interested in Frankfurt’s public transportation system.
• Documenting the history of public transportation in Frankfurt.
• To provide an overview of (construction) technical progress.
• To awaken and promote an understanding of the connections between the city’s historical development.

These goals are implemented in different ways:

• The regulation of museum operations, including the implementation and coordination of regular openings of the VGF Transport Museum and the organization of guided tours for groups.
• Care of the museum exhibits and the museum halls.
• The continuation and maintenance of the association archive and the historical company archive of the VGF. This also includes providing information to the public through publications, exhibitions and research.
• The implementation of high-profile events, special trips and events as part of the entrustment by the City of Frankfurt am Main.
