Frankfurt's Waldstadion has been in existence for more than 100 years and has a streetcar connection to match

The opening of the Frankfurt stadium in May 1925 was a milestone in the city's sporting history. With its white shell limestone blinded grandstand it was a architectural sensation. Not least because the front of the pitch was reminiscent of an ancient Greek theater. It was not only a spectator terrace, but could also be used as a backdrop and artistic basis for choreographic performances, and for almost 100 years has stood for far more than soccer wonders and eagles' hearts. Sports and meeting place.

Just in time for May 21, 1925, the Extension of streetcar line 15 coming from Niederrad via Oberforsthaus to the Waldstadion. The local Sidings for stadium games and concerts have been rebuilt and extended several times, most recently in preparation for the 2006 Football World Cup. The track system is used for events on site at a Place setting table operated by a dispatcher from the VGF operations control center.

This Sunday, July 13, we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the streetcar to the Waldstadion in cooperation with the Eintracht Frankfurt Museum, and thus also the 100th birthday of today's Deutsche Bank Park itself. There will be a Shuttle service with historic streetcars on the Line 20 takes place. The shuttle service from approx. 11 am to 6 pm complete the N, O and Pt wagons (1963 to 1978). In addition, the Museum store on tour with a wide range of products to the stadium.

Highlight of the event is a Exclusive guided tour of the stadium museum of Eintracht. Among other things, it provides an insight into the history of the Waldstadion and the grounds. The tour then continues into the stadium itself, where preparations are currently underway for the next concert events. Through the use of VR glasses stadium operations can be simulated. Afterwards there is a Surprise. The tour is worthwhile for both soccer and streetcar enthusiasts!

Total cost of guided tour, insight into the stadium and surprise 11 EuroThe price is paid on site in cash or by EC/credit card. The tour starts at Entrance E1 of the Waldstadion at 3 p.m. and ends about two hours later.

Vehicle use:
An N-car (built in 1963), O-car (built in 1969) and Pt-car (built in 1977/78) will probably be used.

Current streetcar timetable:

To travel on the historic trains, you only need a ticket valid for Frankfurt valid RMV ticket or the Germany ticket required. The vehicles are not barrier-free and do not have a selected storage area for bicycles. To avoid blocked escape routes, which could save lives in an emergency, bicycles are not permitted in the historic vehicles.
