Attractive offers at the Transport Museum and Light Railway Museum

The 22nd Frankfurt Day of Transport History will take place next Sunday, August 31. The association "Historische Straßenbahn der Stadt Frankfurt am Main e. V." (HSF) is organizing this journey through the history of local public transport together with the Frankfurter Feldbahnmuseum e.V., offering visitors an interesting range of activities and an attractive journey with historic vehicles.

A shuttle service with historic streetcars is offered. The HSF will operate this service in cooperation with the Frankfurt Transport Company (VGF) between Neu-Isenburg city limits, Louisa station, the University Hospital and the Transport Museum in Schwanheim. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., vintage streetcars of the types N (built in 1963) and Pt (built in 1978) are expected to run every 45 minutes.

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., exhibits such as an original mechanical signal box and signal systems on the grounds of the Transport Museum offer an insight into the history of Frankfurt's public transport system. Guided tours are offered through the museum's east hall, where numerous exhibits are on display. The museum store offers a wide range of products from model vehicles and specialist literature to wooden railroads - there is something for everyone.

The Frankfurt Feldbahnmuseum im Rebstock will also be opening its doors from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the Day of Transport History and has invited numerous friendly associations and groups to present exciting offers relating to transport and technology. The entertaining and family-friendly program includes, for example, an interactive shunting game. Food and drink will be provided. You can find out more here.

A historic train bus(O307, built in 1986) provides the perfect link between the two museums, shuttling between Schwanheim and the Feldbahnmuseum from around 11 am to 5 pm.
