Frankfurt's Waldstadion has now been in existence for more than 100 years and has a streetcar connection to match

The opening of the Frankfurt stadium in May 1925 was a milestone in the city's sporting history. With its grandstand clad in white shell limestone , it was an architectural sensation. Not least because the front of the pitch was reminiscent of an ancient Greek theater. It was not only a spectator terrace, but could also be used as a backdrop and artistic basis for choreographic performances, and for almost 100 years has stood for far more than footballing miracles and eagles' hearts, but is also a sports and meeting place.

The extension of streetcar line 15 from Niederrad via Oberforsthaus to the Waldstadion also went into operation on May 21, 1925. The sidings there for stadium games and concerts have been rebuilt and extended several times, most recently in preparation for the 2006 Football World Cup. During events, the track system is operated on site at a local control desk by a dispatcher from the VGF operations control center.

This Sunday, July 13, we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the streetcar to the Waldstadion in cooperation with the Eintracht Frankfurt Museum, and thus also the 100th birthday of today's Deutsche Bank Park itself. There will be a shuttle service with historic streetcars on line 20 . The N, O and Pt trams (1963 to 1978) will run the shuttle service from around 11 am to 6 pm. The Museum Shop on Tour will also be heading to the stadium with a wide range of products.

The highlight of the event is an exclusive guided tour of the Eintracht stadium museum. Among other things, it provides an insight into the history of the Waldstadion and the grounds. This is followed by a visit to the stadium itself, where preparations are currently underway for the next concert events. The stadium operations can be simulated using VR glasses. There is a surprise at the end. The tour is worthwhile for both soccer and streetcar enthusiasts!

The total cost of the guided tour, insight into the stadium and surprise is 11 euros, payable on site in cash or by EC/credit card. The tour starts at entrance E1 of the Waldstadion at 3 p.m. and ends around two hours later.

ATTENTION! The number of participants is limited to 25 persons limited.
Furthermore a pre-registration via the online booking form (see below).
